In 2006, Porsche unveiled the ultimate Cayenne, the Turbo S. Upgraded intercoolers, boost pressure increased by up to 0.2 bar, and a modified engine management system increased output by 71bhp over the standard Turbo, to 521bhp, making it one of the most powerful road cars ever built by Porsche.

Torque was also increased, to a maximum of 720Nm – 100Nm more than the standard Turbo.

To cope with this power, the brakes were uprated with larger discs all round; 380mm at the front and 558mm in diameter at the back. These sat behind huge 20-inch wheels with specially developed tyres.

In other respects, the car’s specification was similar to that of the Cayenne Turbo
