The buyers of the limited edition 944 Turbo S were, understandably, disappointed when Porsche made the 250bhp model the standard 944 Turbo from the start of the 1989 model year!

In 1991, Porsche produced a Cabriolet version of the 944 Turbo, using the bodyshell from the open-top 944 S2.
