The 356 1300S was unveiled at the Paris Salon in October 1953. It boasted a 1300cc engine that produced 60bhp.

For the 1954 model year, all 356s were treated to additional sound insulation, more comfortable seats, passenger seatbelts and two coathooks – Porsche was realising that, to widen the appeal of its cars, it had to offer comforts and luxuries. Other changes included Bosch horns, a pneumatic fuel gauge and better windscreen washers.
